On February 24 the Beverly Hotel on Queen St West filled with Toronto’s  most fashionable to support a rising Canadian menswear label, Andrew Coimbra. Andrew’s newest collection brought the spotlight back to an oil spill that occurred last April in Vancouver, B.C.  “I began thinking about the different forms of marine pollution and researching natural forms of defense for marine wildlife, in efforts of juxtaposing the two themes.”

With a three model live installation, everyone can get an up-close look at his new designs. I love when designers showcase their collections in this format. Being able to touch and feel the fabrics really animates the story behind the designs. Andrew also puts so much detail into the construction of each design, if he showed on a runway you would never get to see all the work he puts into every stitch. The models all rocked some great eye wear courtesy of Spectacle.
